I just arrived in York and most things were closed so I decided to take this tour and I am so thrilled I did. John was so knowledgeable and I am certain I learned things that I wouldn’t have otherwise. He has a lovely voice which made listening to him even more enjoyable. John pointed out things that I will go back and delve into more during my stay. I highly recommend taking this tour. It really was wonderful.

The tour of York with John was really great! He is very knowledgeable and made some great recommendations for places to go during the tour as well. My Wife and I had a great time, the seat warmer and blanket was welcomed as it was a bit chilly for a desert dweller. I would highly recommend this activity.

My mum and I met John at the taxi rank outside the minster and he made us feel extremely comfortable from the outset! During the duration of our trip, he told us stories, explained a lot of History, showed us the sights and we had a good laugh with him too! He was a superb host and we would recommend this to anyone! Thank you John and Tracy! :D

John’s tour was excellent. John is very knowledgeable and knows the history of York in depth, more than just the usual tourist questions. Thanks John.

John was extremely knowledgeable. He introduced us to facts that we would never have known and that a lot of locals probably do not know. He answered any questions that we had. John’s passion for York shone throughout and we felt privileged to gain an insight into his knowledge and the history of York. We would highly recommend! Overall a fantastic experience.

The short trip with John is absolutely amazing! John is nice, professional & passionate. We talked about a lot about York’s landmarks, ancient buildings and museums, during all the time John was well-known and caring, and introduced me many good places to visit later. If you want to know more about English history, or just enjoy a relaxing, warm chat with local people on a cute pedicab, it’s definitely your best choice in this city. I would recommend it to my friends. Don’t miss this experience!

Couldn’t fault this sightseeing tour. Unique, with a John taking time to make sure he understood enough about us to genuinely tailor the tour. Thoughtful, expertly curated and full of suggestions about what we could do with the rest of our time in York.

What a fabulous experience the Pedicab was; so comfortable and very comprehensive in terms of the tour and the exceptional knowledge that John had regarding the city. We were given a true flavour of the stories behind the buildings which brought the city to life and sealed out love for the place. I would actually do the tour again as it was so interesting and I couldn’t possibly retain it all- I know I would enjoy it as much and would remember new things. John was so kind, interesting and helpful. A great trip, great fun too as we took a nice bottle and some plastic flutes!

This was a truly amazing experience. I am blind, and the host did everything possible to make it is interactive and interesting for me as possible. The service was very accommodating of my needs. Very friendly host, and great stories. I would recommend this to anyone who thinks they would enjoy a short but personal historical tour.

To say that this was an amazing experience was an understatement. John really brought history to life. He is flexible, approachable, fun to talk to, interesting and a fantastic host. I couldn’t have asked for more. We were his first blind tourists and he was fantastic. You would never know that he had not worked with blind people before us. He was thoughtful and considerate. I hope to see you again at some point John. Thank you for a brilliant time.

It was the best possible introduction to York for our first evening in town. John’s lively accounts of York’s history kept us enthralled, and the blanket kept us warm. Highly recommended!

An informative and relaxing trip around York. John was knowledgeable and brought the history to life. He was prompt, well dressed and very engaging. The blanket was a welcome thought on a cold evening. Would recommend to others and a good way to start our weekend in York

Karen, Airbnb

We had a lovely experience with John. He was able to pick us up more early and had a warm blanket because it was a bit cold. He knows a lot about York and is an excellent story-teller. He had answers to all our questions and was well prepared. We loved our trip in the evening, with a few special details :)) and would recommend it to everyone who wants to explore York from a different point of view. Good communication, thank you John!

A unique experience to be repeated next time we are in York. We strongly recommend this to anyone looking to get a better understanding of York’s rich historical background.

Irina, Airbnb

John was so welcoming, accommodating and knowledgeable. He was very keen on making the trip exactly as we wanted it down to the little details, asked if we wanted to just listen to music, enjoy the trip or have a bit of information as we went. Showed us so much of York, we had done some other tours but the information he provided was different and new. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to see and learn about the area!

Jemma, Airbnb

Unique way to see York and a fantastic experience. We were given many historical and interesting facts while moving safely around the sites of York between 7pm and 8 pm in John comfortable Pedicab lit up by lights. A lovely experience and a different perspective for seeing York. The experience gave us lots of ideas for places to visit in the city. Highly Recommend.

Susan, Airbnb

Fantastic and unique experience. John was extremely knowledgable about history and development of York. We were given lots of insights and tips on what to do, and what to look out for in York on the next few days whilst we were walking around the city sites

Really fascinating insight into the history of the city

Anthony, Airbnb

What a brilliant way to start our break. Tony was fantastic and so knowledgable. We got to the meeting point early which was no problem and off we went. You get taken to places you’d never even know about and told about many historical events. A complete hit for us we didn’t want it to end. To top it off we asked Tony if he knew of somewhere good to eat. Instead of just giving us directions he actually took us even though our tour had finished. A must if visiting York.

Saturday 30th April, pickup 6:00pm, extended tour. John picked us up from our hotel (Premier Inn) and dropped us off at the restaurant where we were eating at later that evening.

Well this unique tour with John was the highlight of our holiday to York. The pedal-taxi enabled us to be taken into less-accessible areas of the city with ease. John regularly stopped to explain fascinating (and often fun) facts, telling us of events and characters which formed this fascinating city, and got us up-close to particular sites of interest. The pedal taxi is comfortable, protected from the weather and has blankets provided to snuggle into should a chill arrive. John is friendly, knowledgeable and fit – everything one could want from an experienced Tour Guide who uses man- power for transport. No hesitation in recommending.

This was a wonderful and fascinating tour of York! We originally thought we had booked for the Thursday and called to check we were still going, it transpired we got the wrong date however the gentleman was very kind and accommodating and still came to meet us for a tour! Very knowledgable, interesting and informative. We even had a little blanket to keep us warm and cosy during our journey. I would highly recommend this tour!

TalieH13, TripAdvisor

We booked this tour on the same day as we hoped to go. Luckily there was still availability and I received a text soon after booking to finalise time. Pick up was exactly where we were told to be and straightforward. We booked the 30 mins tour and on meeting John we were given the option of having commentary on the sights we would be driving past or listening to our own music via Bluetooth! As we had both been to York numerous times we opted for music and spent an idyllic half hour being driven through York listening to our own playlist. We were even given a blanket as it was quite chilly that evening. Time flew by and I never stopped smiling. I’m planning to come back with my mother to do the 1 hour tour as half hour just wasn’t enough! If you want to do something a little different and away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds then this is for you!

I arranged my booking over the phone from Newcastle Upon Tyne and John organised a bouquet of balloons to decorate his rickshaw and waited for my friend to emerge from The Ivy in York on her 70th Birthday.
He took us on a scenic route through York to the train station and posed for photographs.
His customer service is exceptional and my friend was absolutely thrilled with the rickshaw ride.
